January 2026 - A Sacred Reset

Hey Church Girl,

Welcome to the very first issue of the Church Girl, Heal Monthly Letter. I am grateful that you are here. If you are reading this, there is a good chance you are a woman who loves God deeply and takes your faith seriously. You may also be a woman who has quietly carried more than most people realize. Many women in church communities have learned how to show up strong, dependable, and faithful even when their hearts are tired. This letter was created with you in mind.

My name is Dr. Brenda Mouzon, and I founded Church Girl, Heal because over the years I have met too many women who appear steady on the outside but feel overwhelmed on the inside. They pray, serve, give, and remain committed to their faith, yet they often carry emotional burdens alone. My desire is not to criticize the church or discourage faith. I aim to create a space where women can remain deeply rooted in their faith while also being honest about the areas of life where healing is still needed. Faith was never meant to silence our struggles. It was meant to bring us into the presence of a God who is willing to walk with us through them.

Because this is the beginning of a new year, it is easy to feel the pressure of January. Everywhere we look, there are reminders about goals, discipline, productivity, and improvement. New planners are opened, vision boards are created, and expectations quietly grow. While there is nothing wrong with planning and growth, many women begin the year already feeling overwhelmed. The truth is that most of us do not need more pressure. What we often need is a reset.

When I speak about a reset, I am not referring to a productivity strategy or another system for doing more. I am speaking about something quieter and more meaningful: a reset of faith, focus, and stewardship. When those three areas of life come into alignment, everything else begins to feel less chaotic.

Resetting faith begins with honesty. Many Christian women have learned how to sound strong in prayer and confident in conversation, even when they are uncertain or tired. Yet throughout Scripture, we see that God responds to honesty far more than performance. One of the most powerful prayers in the Bible comes from a father who said to Jesus, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.” His faith was not perfect, but it was real. Perhaps the most important spiritual practice we can begin this year is the practice of honest prayer. Instead of trying to sound strong before God, we can bring Him our real questions, our real worries, and our real hopes.

Resetting focus is equally important. Many women today are not struggling because they lack discipline. They are struggling because their attention is pulled in too many directions at once. Work responsibilities, family needs, church commitments, social media, and the expectations of others can slowly drain our energy. Proverbs reminds us to let our eyes look straight ahead, which is a simple but profound invitation to live with intentional direction. When our focus becomes clearer, our peace often grows stronger.

Finally, resetting stewardship, especially in the area of finances, can bring surprising relief. Money is one of the most emotionally charged areas of life, and many women quietly carry anxiety about it. Instead of avoiding the topic, this year can be an opportunity to bring clarity and prayer into our financial decisions. Stewardship is not about shame or pressure. It is about order, wisdom, and trust in God’s provision.

As we begin this year together, I want you to remember something simple but important. You do not have to prove your strength to God. You do not have to perform faith to be accepted by Him. God is not asking you to run harder in 2026. He is inviting you to walk more honestly with Him while He gently realigns the parts of life that have become heavy.

Each month, I will write to you about faith, healing, relationships, purpose, and the quiet struggles that many Christian women experience but rarely discuss openly. I hope that this letter becomes a small space of encouragement in your month—a moment to pause, reflect, and remember that you are not walking this journey alone.

Before you go, I would love to hear from you.

As you begin this year, what is one area of your life that feels like it needs a reset—faith, focus, or finances?

You are welcome to share your reflection in the comments below. Many women read these letters quietly, and your honesty may encourage someone else who is walking a similar path.

If this message resonated with you, I shared a fuller conversation about this on my YouTube channel at the beginning of the year. In that teaching, I talk more about resetting faith, focus, and the way we carry responsibilities as Christian women.

You can watch the message here on YouTube.

With care and encouragement,
